Why is Hillary not winning more votes?

The 90's was a time of peace and prosperity. Additionally, there was a surplus. Meaning the government didn't live beyond there means. She's the wife of the President during that era. By, the way, I've typically leaned more towards the republican party. So, I am not in any way biased towards Hillary. I am just shocked that she probably won't represent the democratic party.
