My rat ripped her toenail off....?
MAN my rats have been getting into all sorts of trouble today! First, Rosalie gets her tail slammed in the cage door (I don't need help with that, thank you- already asked that question. Nothing serious) and now Alice gets her toenail ripped off. Okay, I admit buying a cage with wire floors but that will change. I just noticed that her foot was all bloody so I rinsed off her foot and cleared up some blood to see a toe with just a stub of a nail... Well I tried dipping it in flour to stop the bleeding and it worked. I will make sure their cage is spotless to prevent infection, but other than that (and buying fleece to cover levels) is there anything I can do to treat her at HOME? Does it absoulutly positively need a vet? Will it scab over? Will it grow back without trouble? Should I clean it daily? HELP!
